Williams Honor: New Jersey’s Country Duo with Heart, History, and Honesty

Williams Honor, the first-ever country duo from the Jersey Shore, has been creating music together for over a decade—redefining what East Coast country can sound like, one heartfelt lyric at a time. Made up of Reagan Richards and Gordon Brown, their bond and backstory run far deeper than geography or genre.
The name “Williams Honor” carries emotional weight: “William” is a tribute to Reagan’s father, while “Honor” symbolizes respect for all those that people hold close to their hearts. “Everything we do has meaning,” Richards says. “From our lyrics to even the clothes we wear, we carry intention in it all.”
Richards and Brown didn’t originally set out to form a band. “We just started writing together to see if we’d love or hate each other,” Brown laughs. What followed was a magnetic collaboration, fueled by shared values and creative chemistry.
Their first major breakthrough came with the single “Send It To Me,” which earned Best Music Video honors at the Asbury Park Music and Film Festival. That momentum carried them to the Music Row Country Breakout Top 30 with “No Umbrella,” a track that marked a turning point. Soon after, they took the stage at Madison Square Garden, opening for none other than Bon Jovi. “To walk on that stage when the lights went down was better than anything we ever dreamed,” Brown reflects.
The duo’s star has also risen beyond U.S. borders. In 2023, they completed a successful European tour, captivating audiences in Italy and Belgium with their signature blend of rock-edged country storytelling.

Their newest single, “Whiskey Truck,” released on July 4th, continues their tradition of turning relatable life moments into lyrical gold. “When you were a kid, the ice cream truck came at just the right time and made everything better,” Richards explains. “For adults, we dream of a whiskey truck that shows up to ease the weight of grown-up problems.” But make no mistake, this isn’t a song about the party bikes of Nashville. “It’s not about those pedal taverns you see downtown during CMA Fest,” Brown adds.
Williams Honor has also cultivated close friendships within the country music world, including sharing a producer with Keith Urban. In fact, Urban gives them a subtle shout-out whenever he performs “Wasted Time” in New Jersey—changing the lyrics from “Guns N’ Roses” to “Williams Honor.”
Looking ahead, the duo is gearing up to release their third full-length album, with “Signs” slated as the first single. The song, steeped in themes of grief and connections, reflects the band’s evolving emotional depth. “‘Signs’ is about looking for something—anything—after a loss,” Brown says. “Maybe it’s validation, maybe it’s a reminder that life is bigger than we think.”
For Williams Honor, music isn’t just a career—it’s a mission of meaning. “If you do this long enough, the reasons you do it must matter,” Brown says. “Otherwise, the songs are just songs.” Richards adds, “The country music community is beautiful because it builds lifelong friendships, and we treasure everyone.”
With heart, history, and honor, Williams Honor continues to prove that even from New Jersey, country music can speak to the soul.
