#1 Song This Week

Isn’t content with simply climbing the ladder of success—she wants to share each rung with others on the way up. Her latest track, “Single Of The Year” (the lead release from her forthcoming debut album, Here Goes Nothin’), has gained notable traction at radio, appearing on both MusicRow’s CountryBreakout and CDX’s True Indie charts.

Despite her own pursuits and achievements, Maddye continues to dedicate substantial time advocating and elevating her fellow indie artists as the ‘country-as-cornbread,’ effervescent co-host of the weekly radio show “Breakin’ Indies Country Countdown,” (on Kickin’ Kountry 101 distributed by iHeart). Additionally, she occasionally serves as co-host and backup vocalist on the “McMahon on Keys” podcast.

“For every artist on the radio, there are thousands of outstanding, talented artists waiting in the wings for their chance to be heard, but opportunities these days are limited,” explains Maddye. “Both these shows provide a platform for fans to discover new artists and great music that might have otherwise gone unnoticed. It’s my way of helping the community I love and paying forward all the help I’ve received along the way.

Born and raised in Memphis, Tenn., Maddye’s artistic development was influenced by the varied musical traditions of the Mississippi Delta region, where music spilled from the countless venues and historic studio doors—they all offered a melodic invitation, each chord a gentle tug, urging her to follow her dreams. But it was her parents’ early support that provided the confidence to pursue them.

“Once I hit high school, every year, my mom and I made a ‘girl’s trip’ to the ‘American Idol’ regional tryouts so I could audition,” Maddye recalls. “My senior year, I earned the ‘Golden Ticket’ to Hollywood from Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez, and Harry Connick, Jr. and that was it for me—though I didn’t win, both my mom and I knew, right then and there, I was going to move to Nashville to chase a career in country music! They’ve been cheering me on ever since.”

Maddye would go on to earn her degree in Commercial Music from Belmont and perform around Nashville’s club scene. There, she attracted the attention of Jeff McMahon—ACM Musician of the Year nominee and former “Dancehall Doctor” and keyboardist for Tim McGraw—who became both her mentor and manager.

Since that time, Trew has been featured multiple times as a special guest on the nationally syndicated “Jimmy Bowen & Friends,” had her music featured on CMT, made her songwriter debut at The Bluebird Cafe, opened for Big & Rich, performed with Lee Greenwood, opened for Marty Raybon (Shenandoah) and Chris Cagle, headlined the Western North Carolina Bigfoot Festival and recently completed a taping for PBS’ “Song of the Mountains” that will air nationally in late 2026.

Additionally, “Breakin’ Indies Country Countdown” has been renewed for its second season, and Maddye is currently in the studio finishing her debut album, Here Goes Nothin’ (to be released Spring 2026) with Grammy award-winning producer Steve Marcantonio, whose credits include John Lennon, Reba McEntire, Keith Urban, Glen Campbell, and Heart, just to name a few.

“It’s been a lot of hard work,” says Maddye, “but now I get to use my voice to not only further my own career but to help others, which is such a blessing. I cannot wait to see what the rest of this journey holds. It’s been amazing.”
