Neah McMeen

Steps Into the Spotlight with Faith, Grit, and a Small-Town Heart

At this year’s CMA Fest in the heart of Nashville, rising country artist Neah McMeen took on Fan Fair X just two weeks after making the biggest move of her life—leaving behind her small hometown of Webber, Kansas to chase a dream that’s been quietly growing since childhood.

“I still don’t know where I’m going,” Neah admitted during our interview, “but I trust that God does.” That line is also the emotional centerpiece of her newest single, God Knows Where, a vulnerable and faith-rooted ballad that’s quickly become a fan favorite. Written by Grammy-nominated songwriter Billy Aerts and one of  Neah’s personal heroes, Emily Ann Roberts, the track captures the uncertainty, surrender, and strength that come with betting on yourself.

When she first heard the demo, Neah was immediately moved by how closely it reflected her own experiences, particularly as she began a new chapter in Nashville. The music video, released alongside the single on June 13, quickly resonated with audiences online, adding to the more than 50,000 video views she’s accumulated across platforms in under a year.

Her journey to CMA Fest is anything but conventional. Originally on track to become a dental hygienist, Neah had a change of heart after a Nashville producer called and asked her to record a demo. “That moment reminded me of how much I love music,” she said. While Neah has always sung, she explained that was the extra push she needed.

Amidst CMA Fest, Neah made her Nashville performance debut at Teddy’s Tavern, followed by a set for the Women Make Music organization—where she took home the Horizon Award, a promising signal of the industry attention she’s starting to attract.

She now has four singles under her belt, each one deeply personal. Her debut single, Bitter, explores the sting of heartbreak and emotional aftermath with striking lyrical honesty. Her follow-up, Lonely Night, expanded her sound with a polished music video and broader reach. Girls Cry in Cars—a standout song both thematically and visually—delves into the quiet heartbreak many women experience behind closed doors (or, in this case, car doors), and features a Nashville-shot video that’s already resonating widely.

“Sometimes the car can be the only truly private place to cry” Neah explained. “This song is all about that feeling.”

Rooted in the heartland, Neah’s early musical moments were built on the bleachers—singing the National Anthem at nearly every sporting event in her hometown. By age 13, she’d sung for the Kansas City Royals, a moment she now credits as a defining spark in her journey. “That was when I realized I didn’t just love music—I needed it in my life.”

She’s currently learning to play guitar and navigating Nashville with wide eyes and a grounded spirit, carrying with her the values instilled by her close-knit family—her father, an optometrist, and her mother, a devoted nurse—along with her three sisters.

To young girls watching her rise, Neah offers simple but powerful advice: “Have confidence in yourself, and trust God’s plan. You don’t have to know exactly how it’s going to work. Just take the step.”

With her first co-write coming this fall on a track called Unexpectedly, written alongside Grammy-nominated artist Deborah Allen, Neah McMeen is proving she’s not just here to dream—she’s here to thrive.
